Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque yesterday said the new generation would have to uphold the spirit of the Liberation War, a ministry release said.
“Without coming forward to uphold the spirit of the liberation war, freedom fighter’s children and their grand children would not get jobs under the freedom fighter’s quota,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a Freedom Fighters Rally at Alamdanga upazila in the district.
He said the new generation must have trust in spirit of the liberation war, adding, “Freedom fighter’s quota is not the qualification for getting job of freedom fighter’s children and their grand children.”
“The spirit of the liberation war is aimed at making the country economically solvent and non-communal for which Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had struggled for long,” the minister said.
Mozammel said Bangladesh is on her way to bring about economic revolution under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in absence of Bangabandhu, the release added.
Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Solaiman Haque was also present at the programme.
The minister also said the government is constructing Freedom Fighter Complex at all upazilas and districts, it said.
