At least four people have been killed and three others injured when a mud-laden tractor rammed into a buttery-run auto-rickshaw in the district's Umednagar area on Wednesday morning.
The deceased are Lal Mia, 65, Kalim Mia, 35, Rahima Khatun, 35, and Samia Akhter, 2.
Habiganj Sadar police station OC Nazim Uddin said: “The Nabiganj-bound mud-laden tractor rammed into the auto-rickshaw around 9am, leaving one passengers of the auto dead on the spot and six others injured.”
“The injured were admitted to the Sadar Hospital, where three people died while undergoing treatment.”
Upon information, a team of police went to the spot and seized the trucktor. However, the driver managed to flee.
