A seven-month-old girl will go under operation in Dhaka Medical College Hospital after she was found carrying embryo in her stomach.
The minor is Sajia Jannat, daughter of Shafiqul Islam and Anju Khatun, hailing from Jamalpur.
Shafiqul, also cycle mechanic in Gazipur Natunbazar, said they first noticed the matter when Sajia was only four-month old. They noticed that her stomach seemed much bigger than it to be.
So, they contacted with doctors in Jamalpur who told them Sajia had tumour in her stomach. Later, they took her Mymensingh and after several examinations doctor found that the girl has carried an embryo in her stomach. They referred her to DMCH immediately, he added.
On March 13, they admitted the child at Paediatric Surgery department of DMCH under Professor Dr Ashraful Haque Kazal.
According to Shafiqul, the professor assured him of performing the operation on April 8.
However, seeking anonymity, an on duty doctor said the date of operation will be finalised after a board meeting scheduled on Tuesday morning.
