A person has been hacked to death at his residence in the capital's Millbarak area in Gadaria.
The deceased is Sunny Sarkar.
Sunny's nephew Misha said: “He was feeding the pigeons on Sunday afternoon when someone from the back hacked him on the neck.”
“My uncle came down stairs holding his neck around 1pm,” he said.
Misha rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead around 2pm.
Locals claimed that maidservant Jumman who had come to stay in the house from Dhanmondi with Sunny's sister Yasmin Akhter was seen escaping after the incident.
Confirming the death, Gandaria OC Shahid Alam said police were investigating the incident.
