Sabotage case accused dies at Gaibandha jail

An accused in a case filed over carrying out sabotage activities during the BNP-led alliance's movement has died at Gaibandha district jail.

Deceased Shaharul, 22, son of Abdur Razzak of Gabindaganj upazila, was a Shibir activist.

Jailer Md Masudur Rahman said Shaharul was taken to Gaibandha Adhunik sadar hospital as he fell sick on Friday morning. He died at the hospital around 6:30am.

Investigation Officer of the case SI Abul Kalam Azad said Shaharul was arrested on February 9 in an arson and vandalism case filed with Gobindaganj police station.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Nirmolendu Chowdhury said Shaharul might have died of heart attack.
