Customs Intelligence officials have seized gold weighing around 12kg from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The officials recovered 12 gold bars from a concealed wooden box at the airport’s cargo unit Thursday midnight.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Director General Moinul Khan said: “The gold bars were recovered from the wooden box carrying electric fans.”
“The box was sent from Hong Kong to the address of a company in Bangladesh but there is no company in that name here,” he said.
The estimated price of the gold bars is Tk6 crore. The bars weigh 1kg each, he added.
