Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday in a drive confiscated 7500kg of jatka from the capital’s Kawran Bazar fish market yesterday morning.
The elite force fined 11 fish traders Tk5000 each for selling jatka (hilsha fry) defying government ban.
Rab 2 operation officer Maruf Ahammed said on information they raided the Karwan Bazar fish market yesterday morning with the officials of Fisheries Department and seized 7500kg of jatka.
RAB 2 Magistrate Anisur Rahman fined 11 illegal fish traders Tk5000 each for selling jatka, said the official.
ASP Maruf Ahmed as the Pahela Baisakh is approaching fish traders are illegally selling jatka.
