The government is making constant efforts to allow the children live in a peaceful situation and grow them up as worthy citizens to lead the country to its cherished destination.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing a children rally marking the 95th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation and National Children's Day on Tuesday on Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex at Tungipara of Gopalganj on Tuesday.
The next generation children would build Bangladesh as a dreamland of Bangabandhu, materialising the main goal of independence, the premier expressed firm optimism.
"We don't want an adverse situation for children and death of any child in arson or make them subject of political vengeance. Children would get a peaceful and congenial atmosphere to develop them in education, sports, culture," she said.
She said Bangabandhu endowed us with the freedom. As a result we could stand amid world community as an independent nation and we're the citizen of an independent and sovereign state. So the birthday of Bangabandhu has been symbolized as the day for children.
Sheikh Hasina said Bangabandhu soon after liberation, made the primary education free of cost to allow every child to have access to education for building up future generation and leadership.
Urging the children to grow them up as the worthy citizens, the prime minister said no children of the country would remain illiterate; each of them should have access to education, healthcare, food, shelter and recreation.
Children's involvement in sports and culture is essential to keep their mind fresh and sound health, she said adding that "it has been proved that people of Bangladesh can do anything if they get necessary scope and support."
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the children to learn science and technology based education to cope with competitive world and be passionate to poor children and those suffering from disability.
Sheikh Hasina said no people of Bangladesh would remain poor. The government is striving for negate the problems, she said urging all to come forward in building a safe, prosperous and developed Bangladesh for posterities.
