The BNP-backed Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Parishad has swept the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election.
The panel won nine out of 14 posts including those of president and general secretary.
Khandakar Mahbub Hossain, adviser of BNP Chief Khaleda Zia, has been re-elected president getting 1,806 votes while SCBA’s incumbent secretary AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon retained the position with 1,937 votes.
SCBA election sub-committee chief Md Harun-Ur-Rashid announced the results early Tuesday.
Ruling Awami League-backed Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad has secured 5 posts.
Candidates from both the panels have secured the posts of a vice-president and an assistant secretary.
