A robber has been killed in a "gunfight" with police on Jessore-Magura highway early Tuesday.
The deceased is Yunus Ali, 42, son of Yakub Ali.
ASP Reshma Sharmin said a group of robbers exploded crude bombs targeting a police patrol team around 2:30am on Tuesday.
"Then police opened fire that left Yunus injured. He was taken to Jessore 250-Bed Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead," she added.
She said Yunus was accused in 41 cases filed with several police stations in Jessore and Khulna.
Kotwali police SI Jamaluddin said police recovered sharp weapons and crude bombs from the spot.
