President returns home after medical checkup

President Abdul Hamid has returned home after his health checkup and eye treatment in London.

"The president reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from London by a regular flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 10:20am on Sunday," President's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, dean of diplomatic corps, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, principal secretary to the prime minister, the home secretary, and civil and military high officials concerned received the President at the VVIP Lounge of the airport, Karim added.

During his 10-day stay in London, he had his eye checkup at Moorfield Eye Hospital and that of heart at Bupa Cromwell Hospital.

President Abdul Hamid went to London on March 6.
