Five people have been killed and more than 40 people injured after a wedding party bus, a human hauler and a sand laden truck collided head-on at Naohata Mor area on Naogaon-Rajshahi highway under Mohadevpur upazila of the district.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Mohadevpur police station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Islam endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said, “Police along with locals rescued five bodies after the accident around 8.45pm Friday night and the vehicles fell near a roadside ditch which is full with thick mud.”
The police official, who is also overseeing the rescue operation, said it was not known how many passengers were missing and the death toll could climb high.
