Prosenjit apologises to Bangladeshi fans

Indian actor Prosenjit Chatterjee apologised to Bangladeshi people and his fans after massive criticism to a post in his Facebook page made on Thursday.

His apology stated: “I am deeply hurt by the distasteful comments many of you made on the post since this morning.”

“I have always been overwhelmed by the love from Bangladesh and its people. I cannot even imagine undermining the nation.”

“The dialogue was taken out of context from one of my upcoming film “Amor Prem” and that is the dialogue I deliver as I meet the villain for the first time,” he wrote.

“If I made any mistakes unknowingly, I seek apology from all,” he concluded.

Earlier in the morning, the actor had posted: “There are many types of tigers; better not mistake cats as tigers.”

The post received immense flak as many Bangladeshi cricket fans took the statement as a jibe at the Bangladesh cricket team, and reacted with brutal contempt.

Prosenjit deleted his status immediately.

It is highly probable that Bangladesh will face India in the cricket world cup for their quarterfinals encounter on March 19 at the MCC.
