Customs Intelligence officials have seized eight gold bars worth Tk50 lakh concealed in an electronic device of a parcel at Shahjalal International Airport.
Umme Nahida Aktar, assistant director of airport Customs Intelligence, said the gold bars were hidden inside battery chamber of a gaming device.
She said the parcel came to Postal Freight unit by a Dubai flight for Hridoy Electonics, E17, New Super Market, Baitul Mukarram, Dhaka.
The parcel was sent by Mr Mohammed from UAE.
The Customs official said an inquiry was underway in this connection.
