Two passengers have been killed and eight others injured after a bus hit a microbus at Kasemabad of Gournadi upazila on the Barisal-Dhaka highway.
The two deceased were microbus passengers Md Alamin, 26, from Baufal and Md Salahuddin, 30, from Mirzaganj of Patuakhali district.
Kazi Mahbubur Rahman, Gournadi highway police station OC, said of the injured, five were sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
They are Mostafa Kamal Montu, 40, Shahidul Islam, 37, Habibur Rahman, 22, Anwar Hossain Robin, 30, and Monir Hossain, 26.
The Barisal-bound bus of Shakura Paribahon (Dhaka-Metro-Ba-11-4806) from Dhaka hit the Mawa-bound microbus (Dhaka-Metro-Cha-54-0456) coming from Barisal at about 3:15 PM Monday.
The bodies will be sent to Barisal SBMCH morgue for autopsy, the police sources said.
