Chittagong arson victim dies at DMCH

A person, who sustained severe burn injuries in an arson attack in Chittagong, has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Suvash Chandra Som, 56, died at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital around 12:30pm on Sunday.

He was the manager of “Magura Banijjaloy,” a kitchen wholesale shop in the city’s Riajuddin market.

Dr Partha Shankar Pal, residential surgeon of the DMCH burn unit, confirmed the death to the Dhaka Tribune.

He said: “Suvash was admitted to the hospital with 25% burns.”

Four passengers sustained burn injuries and four others were injured when pro-hartal activists hurled a petrol bomb at a bus at Pologround in Chittagong city on February 18.
