Building catches fire in Siddikbazar

A seven-storied building has caught fire in the capital's Siddikbazar area on Saturday night.

Fire Service and Civil Defence Inspector Badan Sarkar told the Dhaka Tribune that the fire originated on the fourth floor of the building around 8pm.

“Being informed, fire fighters from seven units rushed in and brought the fire under control at 9pm.”

The operation was underway till filing the report at 9:30pm and it will take some more time to put it out completely, said the official.

The extent of the damage could not be known immediately and no report of injury was filed.
