A doctor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital has sustained minor injuries when three crude bombs went off near the central Shaheed Minar premises in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

Mehnaz Tabassum Prova, assistant registrar of the DMCH, received injuries in her left hand and leg as she fell down from the rickshaw, which was carrying her, said Dr KM Riaz Morshed, residential surgeon of the hospital's emergency ward.

He said: “Prova also received splinter injuries under her left eye. She is undergoing treatment here.”

Witnesses said three crude bombs suddenly went off near the Shaheed Minar premises around 2:45pm while Prova was crossing the area.
