Customs officials have seized 27kg of gold from a North Korean diplomat at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The gold was seized from the possession of Son Yung Nam, commercial councillor of Embassy of North Korea in Bangladesh, around 10:30pm on Thursday.
Customs department Joint Commissioner Kazi Mohammad Zia Uddin said: “We have kept the gold and handed him over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
The estimated price of the gold could not be known immediately.
