A shoe vendor has sustained injuries when two crude bombs exploded in front of Dhaka University's Sir AF Rahman Hall on Tuesday evening.
The injured, Nazrul Islam, 40, has been rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately after the explosion.
He told the Dhaka Tribune: “Some miscreants exploded the crude bombs near the main gate of F Rahman Hall at 7:30pm, leaving me injured. They later disappeared in the crowd, and we failed to identify them.”
Our Dhaka University Correspondent Arif Ahmed reported from the scene: “The locals also noticed one fresh crude bomb at the spot and informed the police.”
Earlier in the day, four crude bombs were exploded inside the university between 11am and 12pm.
DU Proctor Amjaz Ali said: “Those who want to create panic among the students exploded the bombs. We are trying to identify the miscreants.”
