Bollywood actor Salman Khan has undergone an H1N1 test a day after his co-star, Sonam Kapoor, tested positive for swine flu.
However, his test for swine flue came out negative on Sunday morning, reports the Indian Express.
They had been shooting for the Sooraj Barjatiya film Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo,
“After the confirmation of Sonam Kapoor’s swine flu reports, Salman Khan also underwent a test on Sunday, but he has tested negative,” said Commissioner Health J P Gupta.
On the other hand, a statement released by Sonam's publicists said: “We are releasing this statement to set the record straight. Sonam has been detected with swine flu, but it's under control. She is showing signs of a speedy recovery.”
“Hopefully she should be back at work soon. We thank all her fans and the industry alike for the love and support they have shown her," the publicists added.
The actress was shifted to Kokilabein hospital from Rajkot on Sunday.
Gujarat witnessed eight new deaths due to swine flu on Monday. Another 152 fresh cases were also reported from the state on Monday alone.
The death toll, said to be the highest from a state in the country, has reached 283, and 4,766 total cases have been reported since January 1.
