Students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) have gone on a rampage, vandalising at least 20 vehicles in the capital's Agargaon on Tuesday morning, in protest of the death of one of their fellow students in a road accident.
The diseased, M Alif, was a first-year student of the university, reports BSS.
Kafrul police station OC Abdul Qaiyum said the student was severely injured when he fell under the wheels while descending from a Bihanga Paribahan passenger bus at Agargaon Bypass Road at about 8:45am.
Alif was rushed to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
As news of Alif's death spread, hundreds of students of the university took to the streets and vandalised several vehicles in the area at about 11am.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
