There has been protest against killing of writer-blogger Avijit Roy in front of Academy in Kolkata, West Bengal of India.
Bhasha o Chetona Samiti, a Kokata based organisation for Bengali language and culture, organised the protest at 5pm on Sunday.
At protest the speakers condemned the brutal killing of Avijit Roy and called for resistance against fundamentalism, writer Emanul Haque, one of the organisers of the program, told Dhaka Tribune.
The program was addressed by Bikash Bhattacharya, Sandipan Dhar, among others.
Terming Avijit Roy “a hero,” the speakers at the program said the light of Avijit would be ever spreading, eradicating the darkness of fundamentalism.
More and more Avijit will bear with his inspiration, they said.
The speakers also said no killing can stop him, his ideas, and his enlightenment, told Sandipan Dhar, a Kolkata based science activist.
