Kutub Uddin, education officer of the district, said: “Those teachers are involved with Jammat politics and maximum times they are busy with their party activities. So, they cannot attend the offices.”

“Many of them are accused off recent violence, arson attacks and vandalism,” he said.

When asked about the salary, he said they managed the committee men to put their name in the attendance book and drew the salary with the help of them.

“We have sent letter asking the committee members of those institutions to take proper action against the teachers. If they do not carry the order, We will inform the matter to the Ministry of Education soon,” the officer also said.

The officer alleged that local leaders of ruling party were heading maximum posts of the managing committee.

AKM Moksed Chowdhury, joint secretary of Palashbari unit Awami League said: “Maximum posts to the managing committees are headed by AL MPs.”

“AL leader Shahidul Islam is the president of Palashbari Merirhat Fazil Madarsa's managing committee. Jammat leader Kaosar is the principal of the institution and he along with other Jammat teachers drew the salary and other benefits with the help of the AL leader,” he said.

“Like the Merirhat Madarsa, situation of maximum institutions is same,” he added.

When contacted, Shahidul said the salary of the alleged teachers would be stopped after getting order from the education officer.
