West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was apparently more enthusiastic about the implementation of Indo-Bangla Land Boundary Agreement than the Teesta water sharing issue during her talks with the Bangladesh prime minister in Dhaka yesterday.
“I cannot but note with shame that the leader of the ‘other’ political party in Bangladesh, Khaleda Zia, has refused to go pay her respects to the memory of our martyrs at Shaheed Minar.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son and ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy yesterday said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia had proved herself a national disgrace refusing to pay homage to the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement.
