A father has allegedly killed his son over land dispute in Gazipur.
The deceased is Aminul Islam, 32, son of Liakat Ali alias Rekar of the area Kamaria Dakshinpara village of Baria union under Sadar upazila of the district.
Aminul locked into an altercation with his father Raker over their property on Friday. At one stage, the angry father started beating his son, Aminul's wife Roksana Begum told the Dhaka Tribune.
Later, locals rescued Aminuland rushed to a local clinic in critical condition where the doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), she said.
He died around 11:30pm on Friday night at DMCH and the body brought home around 11am on Saturday, Roksana informed.
Sub-Inspector of Joydebpur police station Jobaidul Haque said after being informed about the death police rushed to the Aminul's home around 2pm on Saturday and sent the body to Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Rekar was absconded after his son's death, the official said.
