Petrol bomb hurled at Sylhet-bound train

Miscreants have hurled petrol bombs at a Sylhet-bound train in Bahubal upazila in Habiganj.

A passenger of Kalni Express said the petrol bombs were lobbed at the train around 10pm on Thursday.

Railway attendant Jakir, 27, was reportedly injured in the incident.

Bahubal OC Ali Farid Ahmed said police were trying to trace the persons involved.

So far, more than 70 people have died and scores have been injured in different parts of the country in violence during the non-stop blockade enforced by the BNP-led alliance.

In this violence, a large number of arson attacks are being conducted on highways. Hundreds of vehicles, including those belonging to law-enforcers, were attacked and burnt.

The BNP led 20-party alliance has been enforcing a non-stop nationwide blockade since January 5 in protest against the “confinement” of party chief Khaleda Zia.
