A robber has been killed in a "gunfight" with police at Gulishakhali village under Amtoli uazila in Barguna.
The deceased is Mozammel Haque, hailed from Amtoli upazila.
Five police officers were also injured in the "gunfight".
The law enforcers arrested six other robbers during the ‘gunfight’ and recovered five crude bombs and bullets from their possession.
Amtoli police OC Sukumar Roy said: “Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive at Gulishakhali village around 2:30am.”
“Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire at the police that triggered a gunfight,” he said.
