Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj rail communication is being suspended as an Ishwardi-bound passenger train from Chapainawabganj has been derailed in Rajshahi after miscreants removed fishplates from rail tracks.
The incident took place at Lalitnagar station under Godagari upazila of Rajshahi at around 11:30pm Friday night, confirmed Godagari OC SM Abu Forhad Hossain.
The train’s engine with two compartments went off the rail tracks, leaving none injured, the OC said.
The incident might be done by the pro-hartal and blockade activists, he added.
The train communication resumed at 2pm, said the police official.
