A person has been killed in a clash between two groups of villagers over a land dispute at Char Khagra of Satkania upazila in Chittagong.
Twenty others received bullet wounds in the clash.
The deceased, Saber Ahmed, 30, son of Jeber Mulluk, was a worker at a thread industry in Chittagong.
He died while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said Sub-Inspector Julosh Khan Pathan of Satkania police station.
SI Julosh said there had been a loggerhead between the late chairman of Badsha Group and the local Musha Group in a land dispute.
“Supporters of both groups carried firearms, arms, and other lethal weapons and clashed around 7:30am on Friday, leaving 20 wounded," said the SI.
Upon being informed, police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
A case was filed with Satkania police station in this connection.
