Chitkar’s debut album released

Live music band Chitkar officially launched their self-titled debut album at the Swoparjito Shadhinota premises on the Dhaka University campus in the capital on Tuesday evening.

The band’s followers are in for a different experience, as the album packs tracks with melodious rock and political satire influences alongside the band’s usual rock fare. Poddo, the vocalist of the band, has written and composed all the nine tracks.

Doing that for more than 10 years, it is the audience’s plea that has push them into bringing out an album. “We have been doing music for a long time on principle of enthralling live audience. But our fans insisted that we make an album,” Poddo said.

The launch ceremony saw a number of musicians and bands in attendance supporting Chitkar’s venture. Kafil Ahmed, Shohojia, Onnoshwar and Shoptosindhu performed at the event, while Maqsoodul Haque, Kazi Krishnokoli Islam, Topu, and bands such as Chirkut, Leela, Lalon and Joler Gaan were also present at to show their support.
