At least five people have been killed and three others injured when a truck fell on a stationed human hauler on the Pabna-Nagarbari Highway in the district's Sujanagar upazila on Wednesday morning.
Of the deceased, three are identified as Runa, 16, Ahasan, 60, and Rana,14.
Aminpur police station OC Jasim Uddin Sarkar told the Dhaka Tribune: “A Dhaka-bound garlic-laden truck from Pabna fell on a stationed human hauler, commonly known as nosiman, after the driver of the truck lost his control over the steering.”
“The accident that occurred around 9:30am left three people killed on the spot and five others injured. Of the injured, two succumbed to their injuries at Pabna General Hospital.”
Police said they have seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
