A youth has been shot dead after he hurled crude bombs on a police van in the capital’s Matuail early Monday.
The deceased is Md Rasel Sardar, 25, son of Md Abdur Rauf Sardar, from Agoiljhora of Barisal.
Jatrabari police SI Humayun said: “The youth hurled crude bombs aiming the DB police’s vehicle.”
In retaliation, the law enforcers opened fired at him, leaving him bullet-riddled.
The on-duty doctor declared the youth dead when police took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 4:45am, he added.
