Shafin’s music to raise awareness

Popular musician Shafin Ahmed is working on a song on the ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh.

The vocalist and bassist of famous band Miles said the song was an attempt to raise awareness among the citizens regarding the political violence across the country.

“We are always in a fear when it comes to raising voice against any injustice. But I would like to convey my messages through music or any other medium. Not only for Bangladesh, but for anywhere around the world, I would raise my voice against injustice. I have already produced a song in support of the Palestinian children,” Shafin told the Dhaka Tribune.

Asked about the song, the singer said: “The titled of the song, “Kisher Shok Korish Bhai, Abar Tora Manush Ho,” is inspired by musician Del Rey. It talks about humanity, a safe environment in the country where we want to live in peace.”

Asked about how the musicians are doing amid the political turmoil, Shafin replied: “Winter is the season of concerts. But due to this situation, all the events have been postponed. We faced similar situation last year too. As a matter of fact, none of the artistes are making money because of it.”

His band Miles is currently working on their album “Protichchhobi.” Shafin said: “Miles is aware of the piracy and the illegal websites. We have closed down around 300 illegal websites. We have been working on this for a year and a half. After shutting down a few more illegal websites, we will bring out our album.
