“There is no disruption in the lives and business activities in Dhaka in the blockade.”

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said business operation is being disrupted in most districts outside Dhaka because of the political programmes of the BNP-led alliance that have been going on for over a month.

“We are always in favour of democracy and are working to strengthen it in the country. The Bangladeshis are peace-loving people.”

Opposition leader Raushan Ershad explained her party’s position in the context of the present political situation and also talked about the grounds the January 5 elections were held on.

“We will never surrender to militancy. Bangalis are always invincible, we never bow down to injustice and we’ll never bow down. This time we won’t bow down our head to this injustice.”

Describing the recent activities of the BNP-Jamaat alliance as militancy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday categorically said her government will in no way give in to this menace.
