Foreigners willing to visit the Chittagong Hill Tracts, combining the three hilly districts of Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban, will have to get permission from Home Ministry.
The order will be effective for all foreign tourists except foreign bureaucrats.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bandarban district M Mizanul Haque Chowdhury confirmed the order to the Dhaka Tribune on Thursday morning.
The DC said the foreign tourists have to apply to the home ministry one month before of their tours.
Based on the report of the detective branches, foreigners will be permitted, he added.
The permitted tourists will first submit their tour schedules and permission papers to the deputy commissioner of the respective district they want to visit and then they will be allowed to make their tours, Mizanul described.
