2 JCD men run over by truck while 'hurling bomb'

Two activists of BNP's student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal have been run over by truck allegedly while hurling petrol bomb at the vehicle in Jessore.

The deceased are Yusuf, 23, son of Abdul Aziz; and Liton, 28, son of Atiar.

Moniruampur municipality mayor and upazila BNP president Advocate Shahid Iqbal confirmed their identities as Chhatra Dal activists.

Quoting locals, he said: "Miscreants hurled bombs at a vehicle near Monirampur College around 9:30pm on Monday. Yusuf and Liton were detained soon after the incident. Later, their bodies were found in the morning."

Jessore Medical College Hospital doctor Abdullah Al Mamun said Monirampur police ASI Tasnim had taken the bodies to the hospital around 4am on Tuedsay.

Monirampur OC Molla Khabir Uddin said: "Being informed about a road accident, police rushed to Jessore-Monirampur road and found two youths dead.

He said police also found petrol bombs beside the bodies.

Quoting locals, police said the two youths died after run over by a truck while hurling petrol bombs at the vehicle.
