A case has been filed against 31 activists of local BNP-Jamaat alliance on Monday in connection with burnt to death of an Awami League (AL) activist at Mirsarai upazila in Chittagong.
The deceased is Md Mohiuddin who was hacked and burnt to death in his residence at Jogodishpur village of the upazila on Sunday.
Mohiuddin’s elder brother filed a murder case with Mirsarai police station accusing 31 persons of local BNP-Jamaat shibir men, said Mirsarai OC Imtiaj Bhuiyan.
Meanwhile, police arrested a person from Mirsarai upazila on Sunday night for his alleged involvement in the murder, the official said.
The arrestee was Md Selim, 22, son of Md Rafique of the village.
The deceased’s family members alleged that BNP-Jamaat activists had carried out the attack for political rivalry.
