Police have arrested nine BNP-Jamaat leaders, activists from different upazilas of the district.
The law enforcers made the arrests during drives conducted from Wednesday night to Thursday morning in different upazilas of Comilla, says district police Special Branch officer Mahbubur Rahman.
They were arrested for carrying out violence in the area during the ongoing blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance, he said.
All of the arrestees are accused in different violence cases filed with different police stations in the district.
The drive would continue to maintain law and order situation in the area, the police official added.
