The International Criminal Court (ICC) has highly appreciated Bangladesh's commitment to the rule of law.
Bangladesh received the appreciation as Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq called on ICC President Sang Hyun Song and its prosecutor Ms Fatou Besouda in their respective offices in The Hague, Netherlands, recently, reports BSS.
Huq was in a day-long visit to The Hague to discuss further collaboration with the court and reiterated Bangladesh's unequivocal commitment to the court and the purpose it is willing to serve.
The law minister told them how Bangladesh is determined to bring an end to impunity globally.
During the meeting with the prosecutor Ms Fatou Bensouda, they discussed the issue of Birongona or "War Heroine" in Bangladesh and how the country is determined to pay the respect they deserve.
Prosecutor Bensouda also appreciated Bangladesh leadership for its role in the field of law and justice and expressed their readiness to work with Bangladesh to furthering the purposes of the court.
