Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Vice-Chancellor Major General Sheikh Mamun Khaled accompanied the army chief.
During the call on, the army chief informed the President that the five medical colleges, established by Bangladesh Army, have started functioning with 50 students each, president's press secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS.
Major General Sheikh Mamun Khaled invited Abdul Hamid to attend the second convocation of BUP to be held on February 1 on its campus.
President Abdul Hamid appreciated the army for promoting education to suit the need of time.
