A Dhaka court has granted permission to national cricketer Rubel Hossain to travel abroad for playing the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia-New Zealand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashed Talukdar passed the order in response to two petitions filed by Rubel's lawyer on Wednesday afternoon.
The court also exempted Rubel from appearing in the court in person.
Earlier in the day, Barrister Moniruzzaman Asad filed two petitions with the court seeking Rubel's exemption from personal appearance in the court and permission to travel abroad.
Rubel was granted three-months bail on Sunday in a rape case filed by actress and model Naznin Akter Happy.
Happy filed a rape case with the Mirpur police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on December 13, 2014.
