49 Awami League leaders and activists have been sued for killing Al leader Ananda Kumar Ghosh at Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah district.
Ananda Kumar Ghosh, president of Awami league of Kola union unit under Kaliganj upazila died in a clash between two factions of the Awami League at Kaliganj upazila town on Wednesday.
Ananda Kumar’s younger brother Tapan Kumar Ghosh lodged the case around 10:30am on Sunday.
Tapan lodged the case against 49 activists of Awami League, Juba League and Chattra League leaders-activists of the district, Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain of Kaliganj police station told the Dhaka Tribune.
On Wednesday afternoon, a clash triggered between two factions of the Awami League in Kaliganj upazila town of Jhenaidah leaving Ananda Kumar Ghosh and four others injured.
Later, critically injured Ananada rushed to Kaliganj upazila health complex where doctors reffered him to Jessore General Hospital.
He succumbed to his injuries around 9:30pm in the hospital.
