A fire has broken out at a slum at Katashur in the capital's Mohammadpur area.
The fire originated around 8:28am on Sunday, said Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room Officer Md Mostafa.
He said: “Ten units from the fire service brought the blaze under control around 9:40am.”
A private television channel reported the death of two children in the fire.
However, the official could not confirm if there was any causality in the incident.
The cause of fire could not be ascertained nor the loss in the incident could be estimated immediately.
