Richi Solaiman turns a female freedom fighter

Richi Solaiman recently wrapped up a TV drama based on Lliberation War in which she portrayed the character of a female freedom fighter who gallantly fought against the enemy.

Titled Chokher Jol, the special single episode drama is made to be aired during the upcoming Independence Day. Written and directed by Chayanika Chowdhury, the drama also cast Anisur Rahman Milon in the role of Richi’s husband.

Richi Solaiman told the Dhaka Tribune: “I portrayed a very strong role in the drama which depicts a woman suffering and surviving a war. My character also depicts the untold story of the society where a woman, captured and tortured in the war, is thrown out from the family. She is even barred from seeing her children.”

The drama’s storyline shows Milon joining the Liberation War and after a long wait Richi also joins the war leaving behind her child with the expectation to meet her husband. However, unfortunately she gets caught by the Pakistani Army and is tortured in captivity. As the story unfolds the consequences of the war, Richi discovers her husband married to another woman. The only solace left for her was her child, who she longs to see again.
