The second part of the “Visiting Art Critic Talk” with acclaimed art critic Marek Bartelik was held at the Goethe Institute auditorium in the capital yesterday evening.
Also president of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), he shared his experience through a brief presentation titled “A Critic’s Experience in the Global Arena.”
His presentation covered works and artists from countries including USA, Holland, Argentina, Brazil, China, Turkey and India. He focused on the salient aspects of the art works and trends of the contemporary arts, emphasising on the unique perspectives associated with different arts, artists and regions.
He also elaborated on how varied media, versatile perspectives had ultimately shaped the global landscape of the modern and postmodern arts, and how arts reflect the change in the global outlook on human sexuality, evolution of the art forms, and revival of the retrospective aesthetics.
