The Banker magazine has awarded Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman the ‘Central Banker of the Year 2015’ from the Asia-Pacific region.
The London-based magazine awarded Atiur on Monday, for his role in stimulating growth and stabilising economy.
The magazine also announced the names of governors from America, Europe, Middle East and Africa regions for their contributions.
Meanwhile, the central bank governor dedicated the award to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In a congratulation message, Hasina appreciated Atiur's leadership in introducing agriculture-friendly and green banking system and for restoring discipline in macro economy and overall banking management.
