Police lock main gate of Khaleda's office

Khaleda's press wing official Shairul Kabir Khan told the Dhaka Tribune that the law enforcers put the main gate of the BNP chief's office under lock around 12pm.

Meanwhile, police detained three BNP men including its leader Major (retd) Aktar while they were trying to enter into Khaleda's Gulshan office on Tuesday afternoon.

Two BNP men shot dead in Natore

Two people have been shot dead and 22 others injured in a clash between ruling Awami League and BNP at Tebbaria area under sadar upazila in Natore.

The deceased are Rayhan Hossain Rana, 25, son of Mithun of Naogoan and Rakib, 26, son of Chand Munshi of Tebaria uttarpara village in Natore.

Prothom Alo editors relieved upon apology

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has exempted Prothom Alo Editor Motiur Rahman and Joint Editor Mizanur Rahman Khan from contempt of court charges for publishing an article on appointment of chief justice.

The eight-member full bench headed by Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain passed the order on Monday afternoon, after the Prothom Alo editors sought unconditional apology.
