“If there is no possibility of anarchy and the BNP can ensure a peaceful rally then we will consider the matter positively.”
State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday said the BNP-led 20-party alliance would not be permitted to hold any rally on January 5 if there was apprehension that the party’s activists might get involved in subversion.
“Another offender has joined the illegal government’s false campaign. He is Ershad who is an expert in telling lies and champion of spreading rumours. This autocrat is making various unguarded remarks in the interest of the illegal Awami League regime.”
BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the remarks at a press conference at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office reacting to Ershad’s remarks at his party’s Suhrawardy Udyan rally on Thursday about Khaleda Zia.
“This January 5 will be different from the one in previous year as a new journey to restore democracy will commence on the day.”
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Khandakar Mahbub Hossain said a new journey to restore the democracy in the country would start from January 5.
