Two killed in Chittagong road accident

Two people have been killed and two others were injured in separate road accidents at Hathazari upazila in Chittagong on Friday.

The deceased are Sawon, 14, son of Belal Chowdhury, hailed from Fatikchari upazila and Hosen, 3, of Hathazari upazila.

Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Pankaj Barua endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.

Injured Parvin Akhtar, 35, and Lucky Akhtar, 15, were admitted to CMCH.

A rashly driven CNG-run auto rickshaw hit Sawon at Islamiahat of Hathazari at around 1:30pm when he was crossing the road, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to CMCH where the on duty doctors declared him dead, ASI Pankaj said.

Meanwhile, a speedy truck hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw from back at Ananya Residential Area of the upazila at around 2:30pm, leaving Hosen, his mother and another woman critically injured.

On duty doctors declared Hosen dead after taking the three to CMCH, the police official added.
